French Alps Summer Hiking Retreat
A Luxury Adventure for Sober and Sober-Curious Women
July 18-24, 2027
The French Alps
Hiking through the French Alps is a sensory-rich journey through jagged granite peaks, vibrant wildflower meadows, and historic mountain culture. We will stay in a charming chalet and spend days fully immersed in the awe-inspiring beauty of iconic trails.
Every year, we gather a group of like-minded women in a new wilderness setting to share unforgettable outdoor adventures, delicious meals, honest conversations, and lots of giggles. Expect to leave with renewed energy, lasting connections, strengthened sobriety, and a stronger appreciation for the transformative power of the natural world.
Adventure Sobriety Group Coaching
Adventure sobriety group coaching is powerful, as it combines physical and emotional challenges in nature with peer support, accountability, and guidance from professionally trained recovery coaches.
Our approach is organic. We hike, listen, share, and encourage you.
How does Adventure Sobriety Group Coaching Work?
While you hike, group coaching occurs organically using key components:
Experiential Learning: Hiking naturally pushes participants out of their comfort zones, forcing them to build self-trust and resilience.
Peer Connection: Overcoming mutual physical challenges fosters a strong sense of community, belonging, and shared purpose that replaces the isolation common in early sobriety.
Fast-Track Trust: Hiking side-by-side on a trail removes social masks and creates vulnerability and trust much faster than meeting in a group for face-to-face conversation.
Skill Transfer: Guided reflections during and after the trails allow participants to draw direct parallels between solving a physical problem outdoors and managing triggers or obstacles in their daily sobriety.
Dopamine Reset: Engaging in immersive, fun, and sober physical activities in nature helps retrain the brain to find natural enjoyment and calm rather than alcohol.

All of our hikes will be guided by a team of local experts who both hold International Mountain Leader qualification. Vivien & Jason currently live in St. Jean d’Aulps with their rescue border collie, Gaia.
The couple met in 2007 over a shared love of the outdoors, and have since guided groups through Nepal, India, Iceland, Morocco, Tanzania, Eswatini, Peru, and Ecuador, as well as countless hikes across the Alps.
We are thrilled to incorporate their in-depth knowledge of the region and expert guiding to ensure you are in the best possible hands as we explore wild mountainous landscapes and open ourselves to awe.
Prior Retreat Testimonial
My time was nothing short of life-changing. Surrounded by brave, strong women, I found authentic connection and was reminded that I’m not alone on this journey. Carrie and Mary created a safe, supportive space where I could be still and recharge, while also challenging myself—mentally, emotionally, and physically—on the trails and beyond.
The retreat was so thoughtfully crafted: nourishing food that fueled both body and spirit, alcohol-free drinks that honored our recovery, breathtaking desert hikes, yoga and meditation to ground us, heartfelt circles for sharing and reflection, and evenings around the campfire that deepened our bond. Beautiful accommodations provided comfort and space for renewal, creating the perfect balance of adventure, growth, and peace.
This experience allowed me to evolve, to heal, and to come out even stronger in my recovery. I left feeling invigorated, recentered, and deeply grateful for the bonds formed with such inspiring women. I will absolutely be signing up again!
